What it is
A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that bonds to your clear coat and cures into a hard, slick layer. Water beads and runs off instead of sitting there, dirt has a lot more trouble sticking, and the gloss goes up a level.
Most of the job is what happens before the coating goes on. The paint has to be washed, decontaminated and polished first, because a coating locks in whatever is underneath it — including the swirl marks. Done properly it lasts years rather than the few weeks you get out of a wax.

Machine polish
Swirls, wash marks and dullness get corrected before anything is applied. This is the step that decides how the car looks for the next few years, and it is the step that takes the longest.
Coating application
Applied panel by panel and levelled by hand under light, so there are no high spots left to cure in.
Cure and aftercare
The coating needs time to harden before the car gets wet, so plan for that. You'll get straight guidance on how to wash it afterwards — a coating you run through a tunnel wash is a coating you paid to ruin.

No, and be careful with anyone who says it is. It is a harder, slicker, much more chemical-resistant surface than bare clear coat, and it shrugs off the light stuff. A stone chip is still a stone chip.
Longer than any other job here, because the correction has to happen first and the coating has to cure. Expect the vehicle to be unavailable for a stretch rather than a few hours.
Yes — and that is most of them. An older car needs more correction work up front, which is where the time goes, but the result on tired paint is usually the more dramatic one.
Not necessarily. We just need access to the vehicle and somewhere to park it. Plenty of customers leave the keys and come back to a finished car — we'll text you when we're done.
